Quick apple puff pastry with vanilla ice cream
- Time: 45 min.
- Difficulty: Easy
- Vanilla ice cream
- 1 Sheet of puff pastry
- 4 Golden delicious apples
- Lay the sheet of pastry on top of some greaseproof paper and roll a spiked rolling pin over it or prick the pastry with a fork.
- Using a pasta cutter, cut out rings of the desired size and remove any excess pastry. Place some greaseproof paper and a tray on top to prevent the puff pastry from rising during baking. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and precook the pastry for 13 minutes. Set aside. Using a mandoline, slice the apples into half-moons. When the pastry is cold, place the apple on top decoratively, or like a fan.
- After preheating the oven to 180 degrees, bake the pastry with the apple on top for 10 minutes, remove from the oven, place in the centre of the plate and put the scoop of ice cream on top. Decorate with elderflower.
Important: add the scoop of ice cream while the pastry is hot so that it melts and turns into a sauce.
